Rain, sleet, snow -- A look at how different precipitation types form

DETROIT – We’re expecting some precipitation Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Meteorologist Paul Gross explains the types of precipitation -- rain, sleet and snow -- and when they’re expected to form in the Metro Detroit area.

Snow is expected at about midnight Wednesday, whereas sleet is expected at 7 a.m. followed by 8 a.m. freezing rain.
