Metro Detroit weather: Temps near freezing this slippery Sunday evening

The start of the first full week of 2021 did not disappoint snow lovers, as one to five inches of snow fell across the region this weekend. The snow storm is now well to our east. Sunday evening will be cloudy with re-freezing likely on untreated surfaces Sunday night. More mild weather is on the way for the rest of this week.

Our Jan. 3 snow storm dropped one to three inches of snow, generally. More than four inches fell in Pinckney in Livingston County. The wet, slushy snow is heavy, so take frequent breaks to avoid any injuries or overexertion when clearing it.

Sunday evening will be cloudy and chilly. Temps return to the low 30s. Be more cognizant of re-freezing on roads and sidewalks.

Sunday night will be mostly cloudy and cold. Overnight lows will be in the middle and upper 20s.

Monday will be mostly cloudy and chilly. Daytime temps rise to the middle 30s.

Sprinkles and flurries are possible, Tuesday, with cloudy skies. Highs will be in the middle and upper 30s.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will be mostly cloudy and seasonably chilly by day and seasonably cold at night. Highs will be in the middle 30s. Lows will be in the middle 20s.
