Metro Detroit weather: Crisp morning with 70s later

Another day of nice, average weather

DETROIT – Our forecast has been a bit boring, as we get a stretch of similar weather. But, our average weather is a good thing.

We’ll have mostly sunshine today across all of SE lower Michigan and Southern Ontario, with highs in the low 70s. Winds will be light, moving ENE at 5-10 mph.

The air remains dry … for now. In fact, we have another two or three days of this good stuff.

Today’s sunset is at 7:16 p.m.

Friday is also the first day of October, and we’ll continue to ride this wave of great weather.

Friday will feature more and more sunshine with 40s to low 50s early on, and upper 60s to low 70s for highs. Temps will cool down into the low 60s, so you’ll want a sweatshirt or light jacket if you’re outside cheering on your favorite high school football team.

Nice weekend -- to start

Changes are on the way for your weekend, but the first half of it looks pretty darn good.

The winds will blow from the south, bringing in slightly warmer air. We will see clouds increasing later on Saturday as highs hit the mid 70s.

Saturday rain should hold off until after 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. Right now, our computer model data shows light rain possible Saturday night, and more likely overnight. There is a chance we will stay dry all day Saturday.

Showers will be hit-or-miss late Saturday and early Sunday, but heavier rounds of rain will move into Metro Detroit Sunday afternoon, making it the wetter day of the weekend. There will likely be showers around as we head back to work and school Monday morning.
