Rain returns Wednesday
- Clouds are on the increase later Tuesday night, ahead of rain that moves in overnight and most of Wednesday.
- Most of what falls Wednesday will be scattered and light to moderate rain, but in the evening, there could be some heavier downpours.
- Thursday, we should dry out as this system exits, but a few lingering drops/flakes can’t be completely ruled out.
- It’s also going to be breezy both Wednesday and Thursday.
Brief warm-up
- The strength of this system is going to usher in some milder air, helping us get into the lower 60s for highs Wednesday.
- It won’t last, though. We’re back to the 40s for the rest of the week and this weekend.
Rain/snow return next week
- Another system looks to bring us some rain late Sunday into Monday.
- On the back side of this system, we’ll likely see the rain change over to snow later Monday into Tuesday.

Partial lunar eclipse
- We’ll have to see how cloud cover shakes out, but we have the chance to see a partial lunar eclipse overnight Thursday into Friday morning.
- It starts at 1:02 a.m., is maximized at 4:02 a.m. and ends at 7:03 a.m. (times for the airport in Romulus).
- While the moon won’t be 100% covered in the earth’s shadow, it’ll be 97% -- so it should look pretty red.
- Forecast: I’m still fairly confident that clouds will break for us to see this.
