Overnight lows in middle 30s

DETROITGood Thursday evening, Motown.

Rolling clouds are increasing in number today with on-and-off rain showers. Tonight becomes chillier. Temperatures will be lower than average tomorrow with spotty rain returning for the Tigers game and other outdoor activities. The first half of this weekend will be chilly. The second half will be milder and brighter.

Thursday evening will be mostly cloudy with scattered sprinkles and light rain showers. It’ll be slightly cooler than average with all the cloud cover.

A few light rain showers will have a small impact on Thursday evening’s commute. Dinner time temperatures will be in the 40s.

Today’s sunset is at 8:06 p.m.

Thursday night will be mostly cloudy and chilly. Overnight lows will be in the low and middle 30s. Remember to bring pets and potted plants indoors so everyone remains warm and comfortable overnight.

Wet Opening Day forecast

The Detroit Tigers have a scheduled home opener against the Chicago White Sox on Friday. The first pitch is set for 1:10 p.m. It will be chilly for tailgaters. So, be sure to put on your favorite tiger sweatshirt or sweater underneath your Tigers jacket, and throw on the Tigers knit hat, scarves and gloves for good measure if you’re going to be outdoors for a long time.

Pack your patience as rain showers will redevelop by midday and last into the afternoon. Showers will be hit and miss and, therefore, may impact the game. Make sure the family has their ponchos to stay dry.

Do not be surprised by rumbles of thunder after the seventh inning stretch. There is a slight chance of scattered thunderstorms. Afternoon temperatures will be in the middle and upper 40s.

Welcome to Palm Sunday. The holiday will be brighter and milder. Baseball weather will be better, too. It will become mostly sunny with daytime temperatures reaching the low and mid 50s.

Monday and Tuesday will be partly to mostly sunny and warmer. It will look and feel wonderful with highs in the low and middle 60s.
