Sunshine returns by Mother’s Day

DETROIT – Welcome to Tuesday night, Motown.

Tonight will be damp before midnight then slowly becoming drier afterward. It will be chillier by dawn. Then, it becomes milder with afternoon sunshine.

The chance of a few more showers exists later in the work week. Sunshine returns with higher temperatures by Mother’s Day.

Tuesday night will be mostly cloudy and chillier. Overnight lows will be in the low 40s in our West and North Zones (west of I-275 and north of M-59/Hall Road). The mercury will fall to middle 40s in the city and elsewhere.

Rest of week

Wednesday will be cloudy and chilly in the morning and sunnier and milder in the afternoon. Highs will reach the low 60s.

Cinco de Mayo, Thursday, will go from sunny to mostly cloudy. Showers are possible by the evening and nighttime. Before that, it will be mild with highs in the low 60s to near 65 degrees.

Friday will be cooler with showers. Afternoon temperatures will be near 60 degrees.

This weekend

Saturday will have some showers early, then it will be drier and milder again. Highs in the middle 60s.

Happy Mother’s Day, Sunday! It will be mostly sunny and warmer with daytime temperatures reaching the low 70s.
