Wet weather continues into early next week for Metro Detroit

Drier weather along with cooler temperatures move into the region for the middle of the week

Rain showers will continue for Metro Detroit into the beginning of next week (WDIV)

After plenty of cloud cover with scattered showers throughout or day on Sunday, we will keep the scattered rain showers into the forecast as we head into the overnight hours tonight. Overnight lows dropping into the 50s for everyone.

After the frontal boundary moves through the region, we will see a colder trend from the northwest move into the area. This combined with a few upper-level disturbance that will move through the region will keep us on the active side of the forecast as we work throughout the next few days. Expect scattered showers and cloud cover to continue as we work throughout our Monday. The winds will become a little breezy as well with gusts as high as 25 MPH. High temperatures remaining in the low 60s throughout the day. We will keep the clouds and rain showers into the forecast as we head into Monday Night as well as Tuesday. The northwest flow will keep temperatures well below average, as we only head into the 50s for Tuesday. Expect the breezy winds to continue on Tuesday with winds gusting as high as 20-25 MPH throughout the day.

High pressure will begin to move into the region as we work in the middle of next week, so we will bring a filtered sunshine into the forecast for Wednesday, but temperatures remaining cool, only into the upper 50s. Lots of sunshine can be expected for Thursday and Friday. High temperatures warming into the mid 60s by Thursday, and heading into the upper 60s by the time we get to the end of the week on Friday.

For the first part of next weekend, we will bring a mixture of sunshine and clouds into the forecast as we had throughout the day. Temperatures remaining on the cool side into the upper 60s by the time we get to Saturday afternoon.

By the time we get to next weekend, models are indicating some moisture moving back into the region. So for now, we will keep a mixture of sunshine and clouds with a chance of rain showers moving into the region. High temperatures continuing to warm up to right around 70 degrees heading into the end of the weekend.
