4Warn Weather – The Metro Detroit region is now under a winter weather advisory that will last all day Thursday and into the early morning hours of Friday.

Rain is approaching Metro Detroit, and is expected to fall in the late morning and early afternoon. Sometime in the afternoon, the rain will switch to snow. Little accumulating snow is expected, though those in the Thumb region may receive 3-5 inches.

A winter weather advisory is in effect on Thursday, Feb. 16, and Friday, Feb. 17.

The timing of the advisory is different for different counties:

  • The advisory is in effect from noon Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday in Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland, Sanilac and St. Clair counties.
  • The advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday to 4 a.m. Friday in Lenawee, Monroe, Washtenaw and Wayne counties.
