Heating up for Memorial Day weekend in Metro Detroit: What to expect

Temps to rise into 80s by Sunday

Sunshine continues with warmer temperatures into the end of the week (WDIV)

4Warn WeatherHappy Friday!

The day begins cooler, with another frost advisory in effect for areas along M-59 until 8 a.m.

But, we’ll warm up into the lower 70s by this afternoon. Conditions will remain dry and we’ll have some sunshine.

Temps will not get as cold overnight into Saturday as they’ve been the last few nights. Lows will drop into the upper 40s. Skies will stay mostly clear.

Memorial Day weekend forecast

Dry weather will continue, thanks to high pressure. We’ll have a few more clouds by the end of the weekend, but highs will only get warmer each day.

There’ll still be plenty of sunshine. Highs will be in the mid-70s on Saturday, and in the lower 80s on Sunday.

We’ll have a cloud-sunshine mixture on Memorial Day on Monday. Highs will be in the mid-80s. The weather will remain dry.

We will keep the filtered sunshine into the forecast working into the first half of next week as well, and the warming trend also continues into next week. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds for Monday and Tuesday, with high temperatures in the mid 80s for Memorial Day, then the mid to upper 80 on Tuesday.

Summer-like heat next week

Highs will rise even more after Memorial Day, reaching the upper 80s on Tuesday.

Our stretch of sunshine will continue Wednesday and Thursday as temperatures soar then, too. Highs on those days are expected to reach the lower 90s.

It looks like we won’t see any rain chances for the next week to a week and a half. We don’t have any drought concerns for Southeast Michigan yet, but we’ll keep a close eye on it.
