4Warn Weather – Our Tuesday begins frigid with wind chills in the teens.
We have been drying out overnight, but untreated surface streets are slick this morning with road temperatures also below freezing.
Today’s sunrise is at 7:57 a.m.
Today will be the coldest day of the week. However, clouds will give way to sunshine throughout the day.
Winds will still be a bit breezy today as they shift from the northwest to the southwest. Temperatures will shift back above average Wednesday through the rest of the week.
Tonight’s sunset is at 5:03 p.m.
Holding onto sunshine
We will mostly be under the influence of high pressure for the remainder of the week. We’ll hold onto the sunshine Wednesday with milder temperatures, closer to 40 degrees.
We’ll continue to stay above average the rest of the week. Highs will warm into the low 40s by the end of the week, before getting warmer for the holiday.
Christmas Eve, Day forecast
Right now, Christmas Eve looks to be mild. Highs on Sunday will be in the upper 40s under mostly cloudy skies.
It won’t be a white Christmas, as temperatures are looking to climb close to 50 degrees on Christmas Day. We’ll also have a chance for scattered rain showers on Monday and possibly the following day.
Elsewhere ...
Nationally, lake-effect snow is expected downwind of the Great Lakes with several inches of accumulation expected in higher elevations of the northern and central Appalachians. An active weather pattern across the West Coast will bring rainfall for areas across the Pacific Northwest and California through much of this week.
