A wet Christmas weekend on tap for Metro Detroit

Temperatures into the 50s with evening rain showers expected on Christmas

Rain showers will stick around part of the County heading into Christmas Day on Monday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After rain showers moved to end the week, we will keep the rain showers in the forecast to start the holiday weekend before the active forecast continues for the better portion of the next seven days.

As you’re waking up Saturday morning, expect rain showers to stick around for the start of the day. We will keep the cloud cover around the entire day but dry things out as we are heading into the afternoon. High temperature is heading for the middle 40s by Saturday afternoon.

Sunday

Christmas Eve looks to be dry for the most part, but we will keep the slight chance of a rain showers in throughout the day. High temperatures well above average for the end of December, heading for the lower 50s by Saturday afternoon, this is running about 10 to 15° above average for where we should be for this time in December.

Monday

Looking to head into Christmas day, it looks to be more wet than white compared to what we had last year. We will keep cloud covering into the forecast for most of the day before rain showers move back into the forecast as he work into Christmas night. High temperatures remain well above average, heading into the lower 50s by Monday afternoon.

Rest of week

Rain showers continue as we look ahead into our Tuesday with the mild temperatures also continuing. High temperatures heading into lower 50s by Tuesday afternoon.

Colder air starts to work into the region by the time we get to the middle of the week. We will keep a chance of some rain showers into the forecast on Wednesday before rain showers change over to snow showers as we work into our Thursday. High temperatures heading for the upper 40s by Wednesday, then falling into the lower 40s by Thursday afternoon.

We will keep the chance of colder air, and some snow showers into the forecast looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday. High temperature is much more resemblance of where they should be for the end of December, only heading for the upper 30s by Friday afternoon.

Saturday: Cloudy skies. Rain showers likely in the morning hours. High: 46. Winds: SE 5-10 MPH

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 41. Wind: SW 3-6 MPH

Sunday (Christmas Eve): Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of a few rain showers. Mild temperatures. High: 51. Winds: SE 5-10 MPH.

Monday (Christmas Day): Cloudy skies. Rain showers returning in the evening hours. High: 52.
