Expect dense fog and a few rain showers on Christmas Eve in Metro Detroit

Rain with mild temperatures returns to the region by late Christmas night

Above average temperatures with a few showers & morning fog expected for Christmas Eve (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – We will keep the dry weather around for the most part working throughout the day on Sunday.

Christmas Eve looks to be dry for the most part, but we will keep the slight chance of a rain showers in throughout the day. Dense fog will be sticking around for the first part of the day as well, but we should see any fog dissipate by the time we get to lunch time

.High temperatures remain well above average for the end of December, heading for the lower 50s by Saturday afternoon, this is running about 10 to 15° above average for where we should be for this time in December.

Dense fog advisory: A Dense Fog Advisory has been issued for most of Southeastern Michigan through late Sunday Morning. Visibility will be significantly reduced for a good portion of the day. Remember to use your low beams and give yourself extra time to get to your destination if you will be traveling on Sunday Morning.

Monday

Looking to head into Christmas day, it looks to be more wet than white compared to what we had last year. We will keep cloud cover in the forecast for most of the day before rain showers move back into the forecast as we work into Christmas night. High temperatures remain well above average, heading into the lower 50s by Monday afternoon.

Tuesday

Rain showers continue as we look ahead into our Tuesday with the mild temperatures also continuing. High temperatures heading into lower 50s by Tuesday afternoon.

Rest of week

Colder air starts to work into the region by the time we get to the middle of the week. We will keep a chance of some rain showers into the forecast on Wednesday before rain showers change over to snow showers as we work into our Thursday. High temperatures heading for the middle 40s by Wednesday, then falling into the lower 40s by Thursday afternoon.

We will keep the chance of colder air, and some snow showers into the forecast looking ahead into the end of the week on Friday. High temperatures will more resemble where they should be for the end of December, only heading for the upper 30s by Friday afternoon. The colder changes continue to stick around as we work into the beginning of next weekend. Expect mostly cloudy skies, high temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 30s by the time we get to Saturday.
