4Warn Weather – Our Tuesday begins cool and cloudy. Sustained winds are moving between 10-15 mph, and wind chill readings are about 10 degrees below the air temperature.
We’ll see this trend continue throughout the day.
Today’s sunrise is at 8:02 a.m.
Expect more clouds than sun today. I do anticipate a brief break in the clouds to give us some sunshine in the early afternoon, likely around 2 p.m., but that break will be quite brief. The clouds will return after that.
Temperatures will top out in the upper 30s, but will feel like the 20s with the wind chill. Wind gusts will likely peak around 20 mph out of the west-southwest.
Tonight’s sunset is at 5:12 p.m.
Possible snow showers this week, weekend
Isolated to scattered light snow showers will develop Wednesday afternoon and evening. We could receive a dusting of snow, but no major accumulation is expected.
A passing cold front will drop temperatures below average on Thursday, giving us sub-freezing highs. We’ll have a bit of clearing in the cloud cover.
We’ll bounce back above average on Friday and into the weekend. On Saturday, we’ll have another chance for a passing snow shower, particularly in the evening.

Elsewhere ...
Nationally, a Pacific storm will bring moderate to locally heavy rainfall, coastal impacts, and mountain snow as it crosses the Western U.S. Tuesday through Thursday. Another low-pressure system will move across the South, increasing rain potential in the Gulf states.
Next week: Michigan game
For all my Michigan Football fans, here’s a quick look ahead to the forecast in Houston next Monday for the National Championship game. As of right now, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, it’ll be mostly cloudy and breezy with highs near 70 degrees.
