All of Southeast Michigan and most of the Southern Lower Peninsula will be under a winter weather advisory Monday night into Tuesday afternoon.
These areas are expected to see a few inches of snow, but the biggest concern will be ice.
Southeast Michigan counties under winter weather advisories:
The advisory takes effect at 7 p.m. on Monday and lasts until Tuesday at 4 p.m. for Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.
The advisory starts at 10 p.m. for Midland, Bay, Huron, Saginaw, Tuscola, Sanilac, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer and St. Clair counties.
Here’s what to expect from 4Warn Weather’s Ashlee Baracy:
Another system arrives overnight through Tuesday, bringing widespread mixed precipitation. Snow will be the primary precipitation in our northern counties and freezing rain and sleet across the south.
The Thumb could pick up another 4+ inches of accumulation, mainly north of I-69. The messy mix will persist south of I-69 to the state line, making for a dicey morning drive tomorrow.
After daybreak Tuesday, we will see temperatures rise and cause a change to rain through the afternoon. Tuesday is a 4Warn Weather Alert Day. (Read her full forecast here)
