4WARN WEATHER – Metro Detroit is in for another round of snowfall on Monday, followed closely by a mix of snow and freezing rain.
It’s a cloudy and cool start with most communities waking up to temperatures in the teens and single digit wind chills.
- SUNRISE: 7:56 AM
Winds will pick up a little today, with gusts up to 25 mph. We see scattered snow showers move into the area this afternoon.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for all of Southeast Michigan, starting at 7 p.m. along and south of M-59 -- then at midnight along and north of I-69. These advisories will last until 4 p.m. Tuesday for all of Southeast MIchigan.
- SUNSET: 5:34 PM
Another system arrives overnight through Tuesday, bringing widespread mixed precipitation. Snow will be the primary precipitation in our northern counties and freezing rain and sleet across the south. The Thumb could pick up another 4+ inches of accumulation, mainly north of I-69. The messy mix will persist south of I-69 to the state line, making for a dicey morning drive tomorrow.
After daybreak Tuesday, we will see temperatures rise and cause a change to rain through the afternoon. Tuesday is a 4Warn Weather Alert Day.
The good news: A warmup will ensue the rest of the week. Temperatures rise into the low 40s Wednesday through Friday. Expect additional rain chances late in the week.
