Winter weather advisory lifted in Metro Detroit as more rain moves in

The Winter Weather Advisory for the heart of Metro Detroit has lifted this afternoon given that precipitation has changed to predominately rain south of M-59.

However, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair and Sanilac counties remain under the advisory until 10pm where snow showers will continue.

Our northern tier of communities, where temperatures will remain a few degrees colder, could see some snow accumulations up to 2 to 4 inches.

Most precipitation moves out tonight with lows around freezing. A warming trend will ensue through the rest of the week with highs around 40 Wednesday through Friday.

Additional chances for precipitation this week on Wednesday and Thursday, but warmer temperatures will produce all rain which could become widespread and heavy at times, so dust off the umbrella!
