Metro Detroit gets mild temps Thursday with more melting, chance for rain

Lows fall around freezing overnight

4Warn Weather – Cloudy and mild start to this Thursday morning. This is the warmest day of the week with highs forecasted in the mid-40s.

Clouds linger today, but with an approaching cold front, we could see an isolated sprinkle or two develop this evening, mainly after sunset.

Sunset is at 5:47 p.m.

Lows fall around freezing overnight under cloudy skies.

Mostly cloudy to start Groundhog Day with a few breaks into the afternoon. That cloud cover early might keep Woody from seeing its shadow. Sunshine is expected last into the weekend as high temperatures rise back into the low to mid 40s and stay there into early next week.

Nationally, heavy rainfall and gusty winds are expected in southern Oregon to central California this morning, and then push south into southern California through the day. Heavy snowfall is expected over the Sierra into the Intermountain West. Above average temperatures will continue across the Plains and Mississippi Valley.
