After lots of sunshine in Metro Detroit on Tuesday, clouds will start to move in at night. We will see less sunshine during the rest of the week and chances of rain at the end of the week, but the topic of conversation will be the warmth.
Tuesday night
The skies will become partly cloudy on Tuesday night. Temperatures will fall to below freezing, with lows in the mid-20s. Winds will be out of the east-southeast, around 5 mph.
Wednesday
Southeast Michigan will have a mix of sunshine and clouds on Wednesday. Highs will reach the mid-40s, which is more than 10 degrees above normal. Winds will be light out of the south-southeast, around five mph. Clouds will increase at night with lows in the lower 30s.
Thursday and Friday
A warm front will sweep over Southeast Michigan on Thursday and usher in unseasonably mild air. Daytime temperatures will push into the 50s on Thursday and Friday, with overnight lows in the 40s. We have a good chance of tying or breaking the current record high of 56 degrees on Friday, which was set on Feb. 9, 2001.
The weather system will also bring the chance of rain showers Thursday night and rain for the first half of Friday. High temperatures will cool into the 40s for the weekend, remaining above normal.
Metro Detroit’s normal highs this week are 33 to 34 degrees, and normal lows are 19 to 20 degrees. Temperatures will be closer to normal next week.
