Some rain chances this week, too

4Warn Weather – Don’t forget the sunglasses or the gloves on this Tuesday morning.

Our day has a cold start with temperatures below freezing. Metro Detroit will warm up this afternoon with highs in the mid- and upper 40s -- that is some 10 degrees above average for this time of year.

Skies will be mostly sunny for much of the day, with a few clouds developing in the evening. Winds will be out of the southeast, moving at 5-10 mph.

As daylight increases, tonight’s sunset will be at 6:12 p.m. in Metro Detroit.

Cooler Tuesday night

It will be mostly clear to partly cloudy and cool at night. Temperatures will fall to around 30 degrees. Winds will be light out of the south-southeast around 5 mph.

Rain possible Wednesday, Thursday

Expect mostly cloudy skies and warmer air on Wednesday. Highs will push into the lower 50s.

A few showers will be possible in the Thumb region during the afternoon. The chance of showers will include the rest of Southeast Michigan in the evening, but not everyone will get rain.

Nighttime skies will be mostly cloudy with lows in the mid- to upper 30s.

A few isolated rain showers will still be possible Thursday morning. Otherwise, the day will be cloudy. Highs will be around 50 degrees, and lows will be around 30 degrees.

Cooling down briefly

A cold front will usher in cooler air for Friday. Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.

The cool air will linger into Saturday. With partly cloudy skies, temperatures will be near normal. Highs will be in the mid-30s and lows will be in the mid 20s.

Warming back up

Sky conditions will be the same for Sunday, but temperatures will make a leap. Highs will be in the upper 40s to 50 degrees.

Highs will continue in the 50s for Monday.
