Here’s where rain will fall in Metro Detroit on Thursday

Some flurries possible Friday

A cooler air mass is sweeping over Metro Detroit. Morning and early afternoon rain showers will mainly be south of I-94, but there will be a chance of a few showers between I-94 and I-96. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – Weather conditions vary across Metro Detroit on this Thursday morning. The day begins cool and dry toward the north, while it is milder with areas of rain toward the south.

Thursday morning’s temperatures range from the 30s in more northern areas to 50 degrees in more southern areas of our region. A cold front is draped across Southeast Michigan.

Skies will be mostly cloudy today with rain showers likely south of I-94, and possible between I-94 and I-96. Chances for rain decrease for those north of I-696.

Showers arrived Thursday morning and were expected to continue throughout the morning hours. By the afternoon, rain showers will move out of the area.

It will be cloudy and cooler this afternoon north of I-696, where temperatures will top out in the mid- to upper 40s. South of I-696, we will see temperatures peak around 50 degrees. Winds will move out of the north-northeast at around 5 mph.

The normal high today is 37 degrees. The record high is 65 degrees from 2017.

Tonight’s sunset is at 6:14 p.m.

It will be mostly cloudy Thursday night. Temperatures will fall to around 30 degrees. Winds will be out of the north-northwest at 5-15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.

Noticeable drop in temps

A cooler air mass will be noticeable over Southeast Michigan on Friday. It will be mostly cloudy with a few flurries and sprinkles possible.

Highs will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s. Lows will drop to around 20 degrees.

Saturday will also be cooler, though temperatures will be near normal. Highs will be in the low to mid-30s, and lows will be in the mid-20s.

Expect partly cloudy skies Saturday.

Warmer temps return

Skies will remain partly cloudy on Sunday.

Temperatures will warm back up, jumping to the upper 40s to 50 degrees.

Those warm temps will continue into next week, with highs in the mid-50s on Monday, and the upper 50s on Tuesday.
