A few showers, snowflakes and colder temperatures for Metro Detroit this weekend

Warmer temperatures move in next week

Colder temperatures and a few snow flakes are possible for the end of the weekend on Sunday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After our soggy into the week, we’re going to keep a few rain showers and plenty of cloud cover into the forecast, looking ahead into the start of the weekend on Saturday.

Our low-pressure center will move through the region as we work throughout the weekend, so we will keep a few rain showers in the forecast working throughout our Saturday. High temperatures will hit early high in the mid-50s and fall throughout the day into the lower 40s by the time we get to late this afternoon and early this evening. Winds will be a little breezy gusting as high as 20 MPH throughout the day.

Looking ahead into the second half of the weekend colder air will work in behind our low-pressure system and that will bring a flow off the great lakes, giving us the chance of a few snowflakes as we work through throughout the day, along with breezy winds continuing. High temperatures only making it into the upper 30s on Sunday afternoon with wind gusting as high as 30 MPH throughout the day.

Once that system pulls off to the east, high-pressure will move into the region to start next week. That means we’ll see lots of sunshine and a rapid warm-up over the first few days of next week. High temperatures heading for the lower 50s by Monday afternoon, then will add on about 10° as we head to our Tuesday. High temperatures heading for the lower 60s by Tuesday afternoon.

Our chances of rain move back into the region for the second half of next week. We will increase the cloud covers we head into our Wednesday and bring the chance for a few rain showers into the forecast, but most everyone will stay dry throughout the day. High temperatures remaining in the middle 60s by Wednesday afternoon.

A better chance of rain moves into the region for the end of next week. The cloud cover sticks around before rain showers move in Thursday night and stick around for the end of the weekend on Friday. High temperatures remaining into the low 60s on Thursday, before dropping into the lower 50s by the end of the week on Friday.
