Snow chances kick off week in Metro Detroit: What to know

Colder week ahead

Chances for snow showers continue working through most of Monday with colder temperatures sticking around

4Warn Weather – Winter weather is back this week.

Our Monday begins with a few scattered snow showers. Those snow showers are possible across Metro Detroit throughout the morning, especially around 11 a.m.

Snow showers will taper off by the early afternoon. Clouds will remain in the forecast though.

Our temps remain cool on Monday, thanks to an upper-level disturbance passing to our south and east. Highs will be in the upper 30s by Monday afternoon.

Chances for snow and clouds will continue into Tuesday.

Clouds will remain in the forecast, thanks to another disturbance moving through Monday night into Tuesday. Chances for snow will also continue into Tuesday.

Isolated snow shower

An isolated snow shower is possible on Tuesday morning. Those in more northeastern counties into the Thumb are likely to see some snow.

Most everyone else will remain dry on Tuesday.

Highs will be a bit warmer, rising into the mid-40s for the official first day of spring.

  • Monday: Cloudy skies, chance of a few snow showers. Continued cold. High: 39. Winds: Northwest 5-15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Monday night: Mostly cloudy skies. Low: 29. Winds: Northwest 5-15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Tuesday: Cloudy skies. An isolated snow shower possible. Remaining cold. High: 45. Winds: Southwest 5-15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Tuesday night: Mostly cloudy skies, continued cold. Low: 30. Winds: Northwest 5-15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph.
  • Wednesday: Partly cloudy skies. Warmer and breezy. High: 41.

Midweek sunshine

We’ll see some sunshine in the middle of the week, thanks to high pressure building in. Expect a mixture of sun and clouds on Wednesday with highs in the low 40s.

Winds will be breezy Wednesday with gusts upward of 20-25 mph.

Thursday will also have some sunshine. Highs will drop into the upper 30s.

Clouds will increase Thursday night with another system heading our way.

Snow chances return

We’ll have a chance of snow showers moving into the region on Friday. Highs will be in the upper 30s to right around 40 degrees.

Drier weather will move in this weekend. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds and slightly warmer temperatures for the weekend. Highs will be in the mid-40s both Saturday and Sunday.
