Sunny, chilly weekend in Metro Detroit before rain returns early next week

Sunshine returns for the weekend before rain moves back into the region by Tuesday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After a wintry and snowy end to the work week, we will start to change things up with a little sunshine moving in, but the cold temperatures will remain throughout the entire weekend.

The last of the snow moved out of the region around midnight into early on Saturday morning, and the clouds will break up through the rest of the overnight bringing some sunshine into the region to start the weekend on Saturday. High temperatures remaining below average, into the upper 30s by Saturday afternoon.

Dry weather sticks around for the end of the weekend on Sunday, high-pressure will build into the region and control the forecast. Mostly sunny skies can be expected, high temperatures a few degrees warmer heading into the lower 40s by Sunday afternoon.

Clouds will increase overnight Sunday night early on Monday morning, with overcast skies expected throughout the day on Monday. High temperatures running at least 10° or better warmer, heading into the upper 50s by Monday afternoon.

Our next chance of rain rolls into the region looking ahead and into our Tuesday. Expect rain showers on and off from time to time along with breezy winds throughout the day. High temperatures remaining in the middle 50s by Tuesday afternoon.

That system moves off to the east Tuesday night early on Wednesday morning, so we’ll hold onto a pre-dawn rain shower. Otherwise, partly cloudy skies can be expected with high temperatures heading into lower 50s by Wednesday afternoon.

High pressure builds back the end of next week, mostly sunny skies can be expected both Thursday and Friday. High temperatures heading for the lower 50s on Thursday then into the middle 50s by the end of the week on Friday.
