Rain showers to start Easter weekend, clouds stick around Sunday

More rain showers are on the way looking ahead into next week

Rain showers stick around Saturday before more rain showers move in early next week (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After sunshine and mild temperatures to end the week, the clouds have moved in overnight Friday night into early on Saturday morning, and we are looking at wet weather moving in to start the Easter weekend.

A frontal boundary will move closer to the region throughout the day on Saturday, this will keep the chance of rain showers in for a good portion of the day. Clouds will help keep high temperatures down as well for Saturday, high temperatures heading for the upper 40s by Saturday afternoon.

Once this area of low pressure and frontal boundary moves off to the east late Saturday night, we will keep the cloud cover into the forecast for the end of the weekend on Easter Sunday. Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout the entire day and temperatures a few degrees warmer as we head into the lower 50s by Sunday afternoon.

Then, wet weather returns to the forecast for the first half of next week. We’re going to watch an area of low-pressure head toward the region for Monday and into Tuesday. This brings the chance of rain showers back to the region for both days. Rain showers will be primarily south of Metro Detroit throughout the day on Monday, but we will not rule out a few rain showers for most everybody throughout the day. High temperatures remaining into the low 50s by Monday afternoon.

More widespread rain is expected Monday Night through Tuesday, and this could be a soaking rainfall as we work throughout the day on Tuesday. High temperatures remaining into low 50s by Tuesday afternoon.

As that low pressure system works off to the northeast, we will get some colder air moving into the region for the middle of the week on Wednesday. This will take rain showers over to a rain/snow mix throughout the day, and it will be breezy as well. High temperature is heading for the middle 40s by Wednesday afternoon.

The cloud cover sticks around for Thursday before drier weather and sunshine moves back in for the week on Friday especially for the Detroit Tigers home opener at Comerica Park. High temperatures head into the upper 40s thanks to the cloud cover on Thursday will give way to the low 50s with that Sunshine for the end of the week on Friday.
