Sunny, breezy Saturday before rain returns to Metro Detroit on Sunday

Warm front brings chance of rain on Sunday

Winds will continue to be breezy throughout the start of the weekend for Metro Detroit (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – After a soggy end of the week, we are going to bring some drier weather into the forecast for the start of the weekend, but the breezy winds are going to stick around as well.

High-pressure will move into the region and control the forecast for the start of the weekend on Saturday. High temperatures heading into the lower 60s by Saturday afternoon, but the winds will be breezy, Northwest 15 to 25 MPH gusting as high as 35 MPH heading into the afternoon.

Looking ahead into the end of the weekend on Sunday, a warm front is going to lift into the region and bring us a chance of showers and a little more cloud cover for the day. I don’t think the entire day is a washout, but we will hold onto more cloud cover, a little bit of sunshine and the chance of rain showers. Temperatures getting warmer for the end of the weekend on Sunday, high temperatures heading for the low to mid 70s by Sunday afternoon.

We keep some dry weather into the forecast to start the week on Monday, mostly sunny skies can be expected. High temperatures heading for the upper 60s to lower 70s by Monday afternoon.

We start the day dry on Tuesday, but then we bring the chance of rain showers back into the forecast once again late Tuesday night and into Wednesday as another strong low-pressure system works into the region. The winds will be breezy as we head throughout the middle of the week on Wednesday as well, but still on the warm side of things with high temperatures heading into the middle 70s by Wednesday afternoon.

Dry weather returns to the forecast for most of our Thursday before rain showers are back into the forecast once again late Thursday and into the end of the week on Friday thanks to another frontal boundary rolling through the region and that strong area of low pressure working off to the northeast. High temperatures remaining in the lower 70s on Thursday before some cooler air works into the region and high temperatures drop into the upper 50s by the end of the week on Friday.

  • Saturday: Mostly sunny skies. Drier and breezy. High: 62. Winds: Northwest 15-25 MPH with gusts as high as 35 MPH.
  • Saturday night: Mainly clear skies. Low: 46. Winds: South 5-10 MPH.
  • Sunday: Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of rain showers. High: 74.
  • Sunday night: Decreasing clouds, skies becoming mainly clear overnight. Low: 44.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny skies. High: 70.
