Severe risk map on May 7, 2024. (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – A tornado watch has been issued for part of Southeast Michigan, including Washtenaw, Lenawee and Monroe counties until 11 p.m. This means that conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes.

Most of Southeast Michigan is under a low risk of strong to severe storms this evening. This includes marginal (level of 1 of 5) and slight (level 2 of 5). Thunderstorms will move into Southeast Michigan during the evening.

That chance will increase over southern portions of Southeast Michigan, particularly south of I-96. Threats include strong winds, large hail, flooding, and an isolated tornado with storm motion to the northeast. The severe threat for Southeast Michigan should end by 11 p.m., but a few showers and thunderstorms will linger later.

Once showers end, we will be left with partly cloudy skies with lows in the mid to upper 50s.
