4Warn Weather – What to expect as storms approach Metro Detroit on Tuesday.
Storms Tuesday
Still on track for showers and a few storms to move through this afternoon and evening.
The first wave is showers this afternoon from about 2pm-6pm. This is just rain with no severe weather anticipated.
The second wave brings the bigger threat for storms, some of which could be strong. Areas mainly along and south of I-94 are in under a slight risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather.
North of there it’s a marginal risk (Level 1 of 5). These storms likely arrive between 7pm-10pm. Strong damaging winds is the biggest concern, followed by hail, isolated flooding and even the tornado threat is there.

More rainmakers this week
It’s going to be a busy week ahead, but there will be some dry time between systems.
Thursday showers are expected, pretty much most of the day. Heaviest rain likely south of I-96.
Saturday a few more showers are expected through the day. But we should dry out in the evening.
Monday some rain is now looking possible, mainly in the morning.
Warming then cooling
A warm front moves through this evening and tonight (partially responsible for the storm threat), but this helps us get close to 80 for highs Wednesday.
Following that numbers drop a good deal to end the week. Highs Thursday - Saturday will be in the lower to middle 60s.
