Sunshine, warmer temps for Mother’s Day before thunderstorm chances return Monday

Temperatures warm into the 70s on Sunday

4Warn Weather – After a soggy start to the weekend with plenty of rain showers, we will see some sunshine and warmer temperatures looking ahead into Mother’s Day on Sunday.

Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds heading our way throughout the day on Sunday, high temperatures a few degrees warmer than we had on Saturday as we are heading into lower 70s by Sunday afternoon.

Another low pressure will work through the region with a cold looking ahead into early next week. This cold front will stall across the region from late Monday and into Tuesday keeping the active weather into the forecast. Rain shower chances are expected both Monday afternoon and evening and into Tuesday thanks to this frontal boundary. A few thunderstorms are also possible on Monday as this front moves in. High temperatures warming into the lower 80s on Monday, the dropping by 10-15° into the upper 60s by Tuesday afternoon.

High pressure builds back the middle of next week, mostly sunny skies can be expected. High temperatures heading for the lower 70s by Wednesday afternoon. The dry weather sticks around for Thursday with sunshine continuing and high temperatures remaining into the lower 70s.

Another chance of rain moves into the region by the end of next week. Mostly cloudy skies with those scattered rain showers, high temperatures heading into the middle 70s by Friday afternoon.

We will keep the rain showers into the forecast looking ahead into the start of next weekend on Saturday. High temperatures heading for the mid to upper 70s by Saturday afternoon. The soggy forecast also continue into the end of the weekend on Sunday, temperatures heading into the middle 70s on Sunday afternoon.

  • Sunday (Mother’s Day): Partly cloudy skies. Warmer and drier. High: 70. Winds: Southwest 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 25 MPH.
  • Sunday night: Increasing clouds, skies becoming mostly cloudy. A few showers possible overnight. Low: 57. Winds: South 5-15 MPH.
  • Monday: Mix of sunshine and clouds, warmer. A chance of showers and a few thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. High: 80. Winds: Southwest 5-15 MPH with gusts as high as 25 MPH.
  • Monday night: Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of rain showers. Low: 56. Winds: Southwest 5-10 MPH.
