It’s a rainy end to Sunday, but the weather will be better for Memorial Day.
The threat of strong to severe storms will end Sunday evening, but the chance for showers and general thunderstorms will last into the overnight hours. Localized street flooding is possible. Non-thunderstorm winds will be out of the east-southeast at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Lows will be in the lower to mid 60s.
Monday
Memorial Day comes with parades and ceremonies to honor the fallen, who have served this country. The outdoor activities may get a few spotty showers; but they should be able to proceed without much disruption from the weather, except for gusty winds.
We will have a mix of sun and clouds. A few spotty showers will be possible in the morning, but the chances are low. An afternoon shower is also possible, but some areas will go the whole day without rain. Winds will be from the west-southwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Temperatures will top out in the lower to mid 70s during the afternoon.
Heading out on the water? Be mindful of those gusty winds.
Monday night, it will be partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with lows in the lower to mid 50s.
Tuesday
The chance of showers and thunderstorms will return on Tuesday afternoon and evening. Otherwise, skies will be partly cloudy over Ann Arbor and Detroit and cloudier over the Thumb. Temperatures will be in the lower 70s. Lows will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s.
Wednesday
It will be partly cloudy on Wednesday and mostly dry, but there is the chance of a few isolated showers. Highs will only be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees as cooler air moves over Metro Detroit.
Temperatures will warm back into the upper 70s to around 80 degrees for the next weekend, but the wet weather will also return.
