4Warn Weather – Our Tuesday begins with a damp and dreary start.
Spotty showers can’t be ruled out today, so grab the umbrella as you head out. Maybe grab an extra layer, too, as we’ll struggle to hit 70 degrees.
It will be breezy today with gusts of wind upward of 20 mph this afternoon.
While spotty showers are possible throughout the day, showers and thunderstorms are more likely late this afternoon and evening. A few strong storms capable of small hail and locally gusty winds will be possible.
I anticipate these showers and storms to impact the Detroit Tigers game this evening, which is scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m.
Tonight’s sunset is at 9 p.m.
Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms will linger tonight into Wednesday.
Rain for some Wednesday
Spotty showers are possible early Wednesday morning and in the afternoon, particularly for those along the southern Michigan border.
For most of us, however, drier conditions will arrive Wednesday and last us through the rest of the week.
Temperatures will be below average through Thursday before warming up again into the weekend. The forecast is trending dry for the Detroit Grand Prix this weekend. We will climb back into the 80s early next week.
Elsewhere ...
Nationally, numerous strong-to-severe thunderstorms are likely across portions of Texas on Tuesday. Unsettled weather with thunderstorms and heavy rain are possible over the northern Great Basin/Rockies on Tuesday before shifting into the northern High Plains on Wednesday.
