Severe thunderstorm warning expired for Metro Detroit counties

DETROIT – Severe thunderstorm warnings that were issued for Oakland, Macomb, Sanilac and St. Clair counties Wednesday, June 5, have expired.

An alert was issued for Oakland County just before 3 p.m. It was canceled at about 3:45 p.m.

Another alert was issued for St. Clair and Sanilac counties after a severe storm was located over Melvin just after 4 p.m. Macomb County was added to the warning at about 4:30 p.m.

Wind gusts of up to 60 mph and nickel-sized hail were the primary hazards.

The warning for Macomb and St. Clair counties expired at 5:30 p.m. and Sanilac County’s warning expired at 5:15 p.m.
