Rain moves out, sunshine returns Sunday in Metro Detroit

Next week will begin on a cool note before hot air moves into Southeast Michigan

Metro Detroit has umbrella and jacket weather, but much of the rain will be out of the region by midnight. Lows will be in the lower to mid 50s. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday

It will be mostly sunny to start Sunday, and it will become partly cloudy during the afternoon and evening. A couple of sprinkles will be possible in the afternoon as temperatures reach the mid 70s. Conditions will be nice for spectators of the Selfridge Open House & Air Show. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

It will be mostly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s on Sunday night. Winds will be out of the northwest at 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

Monday

Monday, it will be mostly cloudy early and become mostly sunny in the afternoon. Cooler air will keep highs only around 70 degrees. Under clear skies, lows will fall to near 50 degrees.

Tuesday

A high-pressure system will dominate and limit cloud development on Tuesday. Under mostly sunny skies, temperatures will rise into the mid 70s. Lows will be in the mid 50s.

Wednesday

On Wednesday, a warmer air mass will push over the Great Lakes with highs in the lower 80s. It will be partly cloudy with the chance of an isolated shower. At night, lows will be around 60 degrees.

The second half of the workweek will see highs in the 80s. It looks to be partly cloudy to mostly sunny through Saturday, but a couple of showers could be possible late Thursday night and early Friday as a cold front sweeps over the area.
