Temps to heat up ahead of rain, storm chances in Metro Detroit

Cooler, drier first half of week

4Warn Weather – Our Monday begins cloudy and cool. But don’t forget your sunglasses, as you will need them by the afternoon.

Today’s a great day to give the air conditioning a break, or to mow the lawn. High temperatures will struggle to reach 70 degrees this afternoon.

Clouds will give way to sunshine throughout the day. Winds will be breezy.

Our Monday is expected to remain dry.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:09 p.m.

Skies will be clear tonight. Low temperatures will fall into the 40s, making it another great night for opening up the windows.

Warming up next few days

Conditions will be dry for the first half of the week.

Though temperatures are cooler on Monday, we’re expecting a warming trend to pick up midweek. Temperatures will rise into the mid-80s by Wednesday, and will be close to 90 degrees by Thursday.

Next chance for rain

Our next chance for showers and thunderstorms will arrive on Thursday.

As of Monday, there is conflicting timing of the wet weather. Some models show we’ll get some moisture building in Thursday morning. However, it appears more widespread showers and storm activity will be likely later in the day.

We do know there will be moisture pumping in, and with highs near 90 degrees, it’s possible storms will fire off in the afternoon. We’ll fine-tune this forecast in the coming days.

Great pool weekend ahead

Next weekend will be a great one for pool lovers.

Temperatures will stay in the 80s Friday through Sunday, reaching the upper 80s by Sunday. Skies will feature a mix of sun and clouds.
