Early rain, storm chances Sunday before drier weather moves into Metro Detroit

Forecast improves with plenty of sunshine ahead of Ford Fireworks

After a few morning rain showers/storms, high pressure builds into the region & dries out Metro Detroit (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – Our thunderstorm chances stick through the first half of the day on Sunday as that frontal boundary and area of low pressure clears the region. Otherwise, sunshine moves back into the forecast and a little bit of cloud cover as well. High temperature is heading for the middle 80s by Sunday afternoon.

High-pressure build into the region to start next week on Monday, which keeps the forecast for the Ford Fireworks looking fantastic! High temperatures heading into the low mid 80s by Monday afternoon, then dropping into the 70s by the time the fireworks kick off on Monday evening.

Chances of thunderstorms roll back into the region by the middle of next week, with yet another front boundary rolling into the region. Will bring back more humidity into the forecast as well with high temperatures heading into the lower 90s on Tuesday and then back into the 80s for the middle of next week.

As of right now, we are looking at 2 chances for storms on Tuesday. Our first one would be in the morning as we watch a squall line of thunderstorms move Southeast out of Wisconsin across Lake Michigan on Tuesday Morning, losing its intensity, so we might not see any severe weather there, but we could see additional development Tuesday afternoon and evening.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed the entire region under a Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather on Tuesday. Damaging winds would be the primary threat along with heavy rainfall as we will be hot and humid once again.

After holding onto a few rain showers on Wednesday Morning, we will bring some drier weather into the forecast for the second half of the week. Then, chances for showers and thunderstorms move back into the forecast for the start of next weekend on Saturday. Expect high temperatures to go back into the lower 90s by the start of next weekend.
