Comfortable weather for Ford Fireworks, then storms return

Temperatures near normal in Southeast Michigan

We’ll have comfortable weather in Metro Detroit for the Ford Fireworks on Monday, but then, storms will return.

This “cooler” weather is only putting Metro Detroit’s temperatures back to normal for late June.

After the rain showers diminish, Sunday night will be partly cloudy. Lows will be around 60 degrees in Ann Arbor, Brighton, Flint, Clarkston, Macomb Township, and Lapeer. Temperatures will fall to the lower 60s in Dearborn, Detroit, Warren, Southgate, and Monroe. Winds will be out of the northwest around 10 mph.

Monday

The comfortable weather will last just long enough for the region’s biggest fireworks display, which happens Monday.

Monday will be mostly sunny and dry with the help of a high-pressure system over Southeast Michigan. Afternoon temperatures will be around 80 degrees in Metro Detroit and a few degrees cooler near Lake Huron, which is normal.

Fireworks Forecast

Under mostly clear skies, the Ford Fireworks will light up the sky over Detroit and Windsor. Temperatures will be in the mid 70s during the show with winds around 5 mph.

Overnight, across the area, temperatures will fall to the lower to mid 60s. Winds will be light and variable.

Tuesday

Tuesday, a warmer and more humid air mass will briefly move into the area. In the afternoon, temperatures will push into the mid to upper 80s. As temperatures peak, the chance of showers and thunderstorms will begin as a cold front approaches. A few storms could become strong to severe during the afternoon and evening.

Tuesday night, the showers and storms chance will last into the overnight hours. Lows will be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees.

Wednesday

Wednesday will be slightly cooler with highs in the lower to mid 80s. Clouds and the chance of rain showers will last through the morning. Clouds will begin to break in the afternoon, and skies will become partly cloudy.

Thursday and Friday

Are you looking for a great day to take a dip in the pool? Thursday and Friday will deliver abundant sunshine with afternoon temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. This will also be great weather for the Rocket Mortgage Classic.

Saturday

The heat, humidity, and chance of showers and thunderstorms will return Saturday.
