Tracking on-and-off showers in Metro Detroit: What to expect

Storms possible Wednesday amid scattered showers

4Warn Weather – Clouds will increase this Wednesday morning as we prepare for more wet weather.

Showers will continue on-and-off throughout much of the afternoon.

Highs will top out around 80 degrees.

Numerous afternoon showers are especially expected south of I-69. Isolated thunderstorms may develop within those showers, especially for areas south of M-59.

Most rain should move out by about 6:30 p.m.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:14 p.m.

A cooler and less humid air mass will move back into the area Wednesday night and will last through early Friday.

Nice before more rain arrives

Thursday will be sunny with low humidity and highs in the mid- to upper 70s.

Clouds will increase Friday. Highs will be around 80 degrees.

Showers will likely move in Friday night, and last into the weekend.

Saturday showers and strong thunderstorms are expected to start early in the morning and last for most of the day. The bulk of the rain and storms should move out by about 5 p.m., though lighter showers may linger a bit for some.

Saturday rain could could impact Round 3, or ”Moving Day,” at the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. The final round on Sunday will be dry, sunny and back in the upper 70s.
