Marginal risk of severe storms on Saturday

4Warn Weather – Morning clouds give way to sunny skies today. We anticipate a high UV index this afternoon, so make sure you re-apply sunscreen. Highs will be slightly below average, in the mid to upper 70s.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:14 p.m.

It’ll be mostly clear and cool tonight. Lows will be back in the 50s.

More rain arrives for weekend

Partly cloudy Friday with highs around 80. Showers and thunderstorms move in late Friday night and last into Saturday. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk for severe storms on Saturday for all of Southeast Michigan. The thunderstorms will have potential to increase intensity during Saturday as a low pressure system and front move through the region. Damaging wind gusts near 60 mph is the primary threat until activity diminishes toward Saturday evening.

Sunday will be drier and cooler with low humidity. The final round at the Rocket Mortgage Classic on Sunday will be sunny with highs in the mid- to upper 70s.

Warming up for the Fourth

As we look ahead to next week, we will have a gradual warm-up heading into the Fourth of July holiday. Highs close to 90 degrees next Wednesday and Thursday.
