If you do not read this entire article, here is the summary: “It’s Michigan. Have something for nearly every type of weather over the next several days, except snow and ice.”
Clouds will continue to diminish on Sunday night until skies become partly cloudy and mostly clear in Southeast Michigan. Temperatures will fall to the mid 50s in Imlay City, Sandusky, Grand Blanc, Fenton, Brighton, Whitmore Lake, and Ann Arbor. Lows will be near 50 degrees in Novi, Troy, and Macomb Township. It will be in the lower 50s in Centerline, Detroit, Dearborn, Taylor, and Monroe.
It was a big cooldown from the previous day. Around 7 p.m. Saturday, the air temperature was 88 degrees at Metro Airport, but the addition of high humidity made it feel like 100 degrees. About 24 hours later, most of Southeast Michigan had temperatures only in the 60s.
Monday
That means that we will have a cool start to Monday, but warmer weather is on the way. Temperatures will peak in the mid 70s in much of Metro Detroit on Monday, but it will be slightly cooler near Lake Huron. Canada Day will also bring sunny skies with the help of a high-pressure system over the Great Lakes region. Remember to apply sunscreen.
Despite Monday’s cooler than normal start to July, the month is expected to be hotter than normal. The normal high for July 1 is 83 degrees, and the normal low is 64 degrees.
Monday night, it will be partly cloudy and cool. Lows will be in the lower to mid 50s.
Tuesday
Temperatures will return to near normal with highs around 80 degrees on Tuesday. Skies will be mostly cloudy with the approach of a warm front, which will sweep over the area at night. As warmer air pushes into Metro Detroit at night, lows will be in the upper 60s to 70 degrees.
Wednesday
More showers and thunderstorms will be possible on Wednesday amid hot and humid conditions. Afternoon temperatures will be in the upper 80s in Metro Detroit. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Fourth of July
Thursday, or Independence Day, will be warm, mostly cloudy and mostly dry. There is a slight chance of a few showers, but mainly in the evening. Highs will be in the mid 80s. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s. Besides the chance of a few showers, it appears that fireworks shows will be able to proceed without weather disruptions.
