Heat, humidity return as potential storms approach Metro Detroit: What to know

Marginal risk for severe storms on Wednesday

4Warn Weather – Our Tuesday begins relatively cool with some sunshine. Clouds will replace that sun with increasing cloud cover throughout the day.

Expect seasonable conditions today as clouds win out this afternoon. Highs will be on either side of 80 degrees.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:13 p.m.

There is the potential for showers to develop tonight, mainly north of I-69. An isolated non-severe thunderstorm will also be possible up in the Thumb region.

Showers, storms possible Wednesday

There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday as conditions turn more humid. An isolated strong to severe storm will be possible during the afternoon, capable of producing strong wind gusts across Southeast Michigan.

Highs will rise into the mid to upper 80s on Wednesday. It’s the typical heat and humidity you’d expect for the Fourth of July.

Another round of storm chances will arrive on Friday. We’ll stay in the 80s all the way through the long holiday weekend.
