4Warn Weather – A much warmer start to your Wednesday morning. You will feel the difference in the heat and humidity today.
Today will be warm and muggy with a continued chance of showers and thunderstorms across Southeast Michigan. Highs will be in the upper 80s, and will feel warmer due to humidity.
Light showers will be possible throughout Metro Detroit at around 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. Showers, and potential storms, will shift eastward and are likely around 3:30 p.m.-4 p.m.
After that, isolated showers and storms are possible this afternoon. Storms won’t be widespread today. Any storms that do occur, though, will be capable of producing strong wind gusts and heavy downpours.
The good news, however, is that the Storm Prediction Center removed our marginal risk for severe storms today, pushing the threat south of the state line.
Any rain should wrap up by about 7 p.m.
Tonight’s sunset is at 9:13 p.m.
Hot, humid on July 4
Summer heat and humidity are in the forecast for the Fourth of July.
Rain chances are looking to hold just south of the state border on Thursday, but I can’t rule out a light passing shower in the afternoon. Especially those more south in our region.
However, I expect us to stay mainly dry for the holiday. Highs will be in the mid-80s.
Showers, storms possible Friday
Widespread showers and embedded thunderstorms are possible on Friday. Highs will remain in the low-to-mid-80s Friday through the weekend, and into early next week.
We do expect drier conditions this weekend.
