Hurricane Beryl remnants to reach Metro Detroit this week: What to know

Isolated shower, storm possible Monday

4Warn Weather – It’s a muggy Monday morning with the heat and humidity on the rise today.

The day begins mostly sunny with increasing cloud cover throughout the day. Highs will reach the mid to upper 80s, and will feel a few degrees warmer due to the humidity.

Most of us will stay dry today, but the heat and humidity could trigger an isolated pop-up shower or storm both today and tomorrow. Any thunderstorms today are more likely for those north of I-94.

Isolated showers and storms are particularly possible around and after 5 p.m.

Tonight’s sunset is at 9:11 p.m.

Some more isolated showers and storms are possible overnight into Tuesday morning. Our radar shows most of the wet weather tracking well north of I-94.

Lows will be in the low 70s.

Hurricane remnants to reach Michigan

Remnant moisture from Hurricane Beryl, which is primarily affecting Texas as of Monday, will arrive Tuesday night through Wednesday.

More pop-up showers and storms are possible during the day Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid-80s.

Beginning late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, widespread rain will arrive, thanks to Beryl. The storm’s remnants should cause widespread rain all day and all evening on Wednesday.

Periods of heavy rain are likely, pending the final track of Beryl. That means we have a slight chance for flooding, given projected rainfall totals in our area could be anywhere from 1-3 inches.

This is a good reminder to check your sump pumps on Wednesday, since that will be a lot of rain in a short amount of time.

Drier rest of the week

The rain should move out of the region by midnight Wednesday.

We’ll be drier on Thursday and Friday. Highs will be in the upper 70s on Thursday and lower 80s on Friday.

We’ll warm up close to 90 degrees this weekend.
