4WARN WEATHER – Two rounds of storms are heading toward Metro Detroit on Monday. Here’s what you should expect.

First round of storms
The first round of storms is approaching Monday morning.
An area of thunderstorms will work across Southeast Michigan, bringing the first chance of scattered rain chances.
These aren’t expected to be strong storms, but you might hear a rumble of thunder.

Not everybody will see rain as they head out the door Monday morning, but you should probably grab an umbrella, just in case.
Highs Monday will rise close to 90. Most of the afternoon will be dry before the next complex of storms works east across southern Lake Michigan and across southern Michigan at night.
Second round of storms
Storms Monday night into Tuesday morning have the potential to be strong to severe, with damaging winds.
The area will reach the peak heat of the day around 3 p.m., with Detroit Metro Airport trending toward about 97 for a heat index. Everyone will feel like they’re in the 90s during the afternoon.
The afternoon and evening are likely to stay dry, but later at night and approaching midnight is when the severe threat amps up.
Damaging winds are the primary concern. There is also a chance of heavy rain and lightning strikes.
There could be remnant rainfall through 5 a.m.
Additional storms will be possible Tuesday, ahead of a cold front that will drop through the region and bring cooler temperatures the rest of the week.
We will be in the mid-80s Tuesday before highs fall into the upper 70s through the rest of the work week.
