Storms approach Metro Detroit in morning, with stronger batch at night

Highs rise close to 90 degrees

4WARN WEATHER – Storms are approaching Metro Detroit on Monday morning, but the more severe wave is expected to arrive at night.

This is the air you can wear. The heat and humidity linger Monday, with heat indices rising into the mid- to upper 90s in the afternoon.

First wave of Monday storms

We have multiple chances for showers and thunderstorms. An area of thunderstorms will work across Southeast Michigan in the morning, bringing the first chance of scattered rain chances.

Highs Monday will rise close to 90. Most of the afternoon will be dry before the next complex of storms works east across southern Lake Michigan and across southern Michigan at night.

Storms Monday night have the potential to be strong to severe, with damaging winds.

Additional storms will be possible Tuesday, ahead of a cold front that will drop through the region and bring cooler temperatures the rest of the week.

We will be in the mid-80s Tuesday before highs fall into the upper 70s through the rest of the work week.

Otherwise, sunny and seasonal weather is expected this weekend.
