4WARN WEATHER – A wave of severe storms is expected to hit Metro Detroit, bringing potentially damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and lightning.
Monday’s morning rainfall -- which might have come with rumbles of thunder for some in the area -- is expected to dry up around noon or 1 p.m. That’s when temperatures will continue to rise, eventually reaching their peak around 3 p.m.

Everyone in the area will have feels-like temperatures in the 90s, with Detroit Metro Airport tracking toward a 97-degree heat index.
The afternoon and evening should be mostly dry. But the bulk of the heavier rain and potentially damaging winds will arrive after midnight, likely around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday.
This line of storms is going to push through Southeast Michigan and clear out by about 5 a.m.
All of Southeast Michigan is under a “marginal” risk for severe weather on Monday.

A secondary round of morning storms could affect the southern parts of Southeast Michigan, starting around 5 a.m.
Scattered rainfall will likely continue through the morning, especially for the southern parts of the area. That rainfall will linger until around 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Another storm Tuesday afternoon, sometime around the peak heat of the day at 4:15 p.m., can’t be ruled out in Monroe County, near the Ohio border.
