Here’s when storm chances return to Metro Detroit

Storm chances to stick for a good part of the work week

Showers and thunderstorms roll into the region for the start of next week (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – The sunshine will continue for the end of the weekend on Sunday, but with a southerly flow starting to kick in, we will bring in a little more humidity as we work throughout the afternoon.

High temperatures heading for the upper 80s to near 90° by Sunday afternoon, so it will feel a little more like summer by the end of the weekend on Sunday.

Our thunderstorm chances return to the forecast looking ahead into the first part of next week. We will see some sunshine as we work throughout the day on Monday before those chances for showers and thunderstorms roll in during the afternoon and evening. Then, we continue with those storm chances looking ahead through Tuesday as well. High temperatures for the first part of next week will head into mid to upper 80s all three days.

After the first round of storms moves through, we will dry things out, looking ahead into the middle of the week for Wednesday. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day, temperatures warming up yet again, heading into the upper 80s to near 90° by Wednesday afternoon.

Better chances for more widespread showers and thunderstorms rolling into the region looking ahead into Thursday and Friday. High temperatures heading into the upper 80s both days, and this could be a decent amount of rainfall that heads for the region.

We will keep a few thunderstorms into the forecast to start next weekend on Saturday, although I don’t think it’ll be a complete washout looking ahead to the start of the weekend. High temperature is remaining in the middle 80s by Saturday afternoon.

We’re also keeping an eye on the tropics right now, after a few weeks post Hurricane Beryl, it looks like things could start to get active once again. The National Hurricane Center is tracking a wave moving over the Atlantic, which they are forecasting to potentially become a tropical system within the next seven days as it moves into the Caribbean. If you have any travel plans down into the Caribbean over the next week, you are going to want to keep an eye on the forecast as some longer range. Trends suggest that the tropics could be become active as we look ahead into the first part of August.
