Showers, thunderstorms in Metro Detroit’s forecast most of this week

Workweek littered with storm chances

4Warn Weather – Showers and thunderstorms are returning to Metro Detroit’s weather forecast for most of the workweek.

Monday

After a beautiful, but warmer and more humid, end to the weekend, we are bringing back the more active weather pattern to start the workweek.

Our thunderstorm chances return to the forecast, but we start with sunshine throughout the day Monday before those chances for showers and thunderstorms roll in during the afternoon and evening.

I am not going to rule out a few rain showers in the morning hours on Monday.

Partly to mostly cloudy skies, warm and humid. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. High: 85. Winds: South 5-10 MPH.

Mostly cloudy skies, warm and humid. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Low: 71. Winds: South 5-10 MPH.

Tuesday

We continue with those storm chances looking ahead through Tuesday, as well. High temperatures for the first part of next week will head into mid to upper 80s through Tuesday.

Mostly cloudy skies. A chance of showers and thunderstorms. High: 84. Winds: Southeast 5-10 MPH.

Mostly cloudy skies, a chance of a few thunderstorms early. Drying out overnight. Low: 70. Winds: West-Northwest 5-10 MPH.

Rest of week

After the first round of storms moves through, we will dry things out, looking ahead into the middle of the week for Wednesday. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds throughout the day, temperatures warming up yet again, heading into the upper 80s to lower 90s by Wednesday afternoon.

Better chances for more widespread showers and thunderstorms rolling into the region looking ahead into Thursday and Friday. High temperatures heading into the upper 80s both days, and this could be a decent amount of rainfall that heads for the region.

We will keep a few thunderstorms into the forecast to start next weekend on Saturday, although I don’t think it’ll be a complete washout looking ahead to the start of the weekend. High temperature is remaining in the middle 80s by Saturday afternoon. Drier weather moves into the region once again for the end of the weekend on Sunday, high temperatures remaining the middle 80s.

We’re also keeping an eye on the tropics right now, after a few weeks post Hurricane Beryl, it looks like things could start to get active once again. The National Hurricane Center is tracking a wave moving over the Atlantic, which they are forecasting to potentially become a tropical system within the next seven days as it moves into the Caribbean. If you have any travel plans down into the Caribbean over the next week, you are going to want to keep an eye on the forecast as some longer range. Trends suggest that the tropics could be become active as we look ahead into the first part of August.
