A flash flood warning was issued for Macomb County on Friday as a slow-moving system brought rain to the region.
The warning is for the Clinton River, near Clinton Township. The National Weather Service said the river had reached low spots on some roads and the bottoms of several bridges.
A prior flash flood warning included Wayne and Macomb counties, but that warning had since expired.
The National Weather Service said at the time of the alert, one inch of rain had already fallen in the previous 30 minutes.
“Additional rainfall amounts may exceed 2 inches in the warned area through this afternoon. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.”
Flooding is more likely to impact small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, underpasses and low-lying areas with poor drainage.
