Metro Detroit to see hot, humid weekend; cooler weather expected to follow

4WARN WEATHER – The hot and humid weather continues through the weekend, but storms are coming to an end.

After a night of heavy rain, parts of Metro Detroit are still dealing with flooded roads and wet basements. Parts of Macomb County remain under a Flood Warning until 9 p.m. including Utica, Fraser and Sterling Heights.

Overnight we dry out but remain muggy with a low of 69 degrees.

Partly cloudy and dry over the weekend with lots of humidity and highs in the upper 80s close to 90. By Monday, a weak cold front comes through and that finally breaks our long stretch of hot, sticky weather. Highs by the middle of next week are in the 70s with much lower dew points.

Keeping a close eye on what could become Tropical Storm Debby. As of 5 p.m. Friday this was still an unorganized area of convection crossing over Cuba. As it enters the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico it is likely to become a Tropical Depression and by Sunday a Tropical Storm affecting the keys and then the Gulf Coast of Florida. Right now Naples appears to feel the effects the most if the track remains the same. Tropical Storm watches and warnings are already up along the coast of Florida.

Let’s chat more tonight at 11 p.m.
