A tornado watch was issued Tuesday for nine counties in Southern Michigan.

The tornado watch is in effect until 3 p.m. on Tuesday for the following Michigan counties:

  • Branch
  • Calhoun
  • Cass
  • Hillsdale
  • Jackson
  • Kalamazoo
  • Lenawee
  • Monroe
  • St. Joseph

UPDATE: The watch was cancelled early.

A large portion of lower Michigan is at risk for severe weather on Tuesday between the late morning hours into the afternoon.

Large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible with any storms that develop.
