High temperatures remain below average

Sunshine continues with an isolated shower possible North of Metro Detroit on Sunday (WDIV)

4Warn Weather – We will keep the trend of dry weather in the forecast as we look ahead throughout the end of the weekend and into early next week.

High-pressure out over the Midwestern United States will control the forecast as we look ahead into the end of the weekend and first part of next week, and that will keep the dry weather around for most of the region.

Expect plenty of sunshine throughout our Sunday, but as high-pressure center out over the Midwest moves into the region, it will be a little breezy as we work throughout the day on Sunday.

High temperatures heading for the middle 70s, which is well below average with wind gusting as high as 25 MPH throughout much of the day today.

Expect mainly clear skies overnight Sunday night and early on Monday morning, and it will be another night to open the windows and give the air-conditioning a break. Overnight lows dropping into the upper 50s by early Sunday morning.

Next week

The dry weather continues all the way through the majority of next week, but we are expecting a warming trend, heading our way. As high-pressure builds overhead, more sunshine than anything is in the forecast for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday before we increase the cloud cover a bit but keep some sunshine in the forecast by the time we get to Thursday.

Temperatures progressively getting warmer, we will look for the 80s to return starting on Sunday, and we will hover around average (average is 82 degrees for this time in August) as we work through the first part of next week.

Our next chance of showers and thunderstorms looks to roll into the region after sunset on Thursday night and stick around for the end of the week on Friday and into the start of next weekend. The cloud cover will help keep temperatures down a bit as well. High temperatures remaining in the lower 80s both Friday and Saturday.
